The honest picture

What PrivacyHawk actually is

Pricing

$74.99 a year or $19.99 a month for Premium, $124.99 a year or $29.99 a month for Platinum, and $199.99 or $299.99 a year for the four-person family versions. Sold through the iOS and Android apps. Verified on privacyhawk.com/pricing, September 2026.

Where PrivacyHawk is strong

A low yearly price, a free tier with a scan and 10 opt-outs a month, a four-person family plan, and reach beyond data brokers: it also asks 10,000+ ordinary companies you have dealt with to delete your data, which cuts spam.

Where it falls short

It covers 100+ data brokers, fewer than most paid removal services, works only as a phone app, takes no custom removal requests, and reports removals as statuses rather than dated evidence. Monthly billing costs more than three times the yearly rate.

Is it legit

Is Privacy Hawk legit?

Yes. PrivacyHawk, Inc. sells a real, paid app on the App Store and Google Play that scans for companies holding your data and sends deletion and opt-out requests on your behalf. Reviews on both app stores are mostly positive, and All About Cookies' January 2026 test found the first exposure scan finished in under two minutes.

The honest caveats come from the same testers. All About Cookies noted it covers fewer brokers than top competitors, received no notifications confirming successful opt-outs during testing, and found the extras less effective than the core removal. Negative app reviews mostly say spam calls did not drop as much as hoped. Treat it as a working product with narrower broker coverage, not a scam.

How it works

What does the PrivacyHawk app actually remove?

PrivacyHawk works on two lists. The first is data brokers: it scans 100+ of them and sends opt-out and deletion requests. The second is what it calls your digital footprint: the 10,000+ ordinary companies, retailers, apps and services, that may hold your data because you did business with them. For those it sends deletion requests or unsubscribes you, which is why many users buy it to cut spam and marketing email.

That second list is where PrivacyHawk is different from most removal services, and it needs access to your email for some of it. On Premium you confirm broker removals before they are sent; Platinum automates them. There are no custom removal requests, so a people-search site outside its list stays up until you file it yourself.

Head to head

PrivacyHawk vs DeleteMe

DeleteMe costs $129 a year for one person against $74.99 for PrivacyHawk Premium, and $329 a year for four people against $199.99 for PrivacyHawk Premium Family. For the extra money DeleteMe puts human privacy experts on removals, accepts custom requests for sites outside its list, and sends quarterly privacy reports. It sells no monthly plan.

Choose PrivacyHawk if your main complaint is spam and marketing, since it reaches thousands of companies DeleteMe does not touch. Choose a dedicated people-search service if your worry is your home address and phone number showing up when someone searches your name, which is where broker depth, custom requests and proof matter. Full DeleteMe prices are in our DeleteMe cost breakdown.

The verdict

Is PrivacyHawk worth it?

PrivacyHawk Premium is worth $74.99 a year for someone who wants fewer spam calls and marketing emails and a basic pass over the big data brokers, managed from a phone. The free tier with 10 opt-outs a month is enough to see whether you like the app before you pay.

It is the wrong tool when a specific listing has to come down and stay down: a stalking or harassment case, an executive whose home address is a security issue, or a household where every relative gets relisted. Deindex files every request under a named legal basis, keeps a dated before-and-after screenshot of each listing and rescans monthly, with Family covering five people for $588 a year.

Why people switch

Why people move from PrivacyHawk to Deindex

  • Your address and phone number are on people-search sites outside PrivacyHawk's 100+ broker list and you need them handled.

  • You want a dated before-and-after screenshot and the legal basis for each removal, for yourself, a lawyer or a security team.

  • You want to manage removals from a browser, not only a phone app, with a household of five on one plan.

Still deciding? How PrivacyHawk compares with the other paid removal services goes through the pricing, what actually gets removed, and where PrivacyHawk is the better buy.

If you are still shortlisting, our ranked breakdown of the best data removal service puts PrivacyHawk next to every other option on price and legal basis. Want to try the free route first? The data broker opt out list covers what PrivacyHawk and Deindex both file on your behalf, and the wider guide to removing your information from the internet explains what no provider can take down.

Our differentiator

We sell proof and legal standing, not a count.

Every provider in this category, PrivacyHawk included, will tell you how many opt-out requests it sent. Deindex tells you which legal mechanism each request was filed under, GDPR Article 17, CCPA §1798.105, the broker's own opt-out policy, or Google's personal-information removal tool, and attaches a dated before-and-after screenshot to every resolution. That is what you hand a security team or a lawyer, a number on a dashboard is not evidence.

We also tell you what we cannot remove. Court records, news articles, and anything outside legal removal scope stay published, and we say so upfront rather than take your money for a promise we cannot keep. Currently 50+ data brokers and people-search sites are in the catalog.
