A data removal service costs between $20 and $250 a year for one person, and most people pay $95 to $175. EasyOptOuts is the cheapest at $19.99 a year, Optery Core is $39, Incogni Standard is $95.88, DeleteMe is $129 and Deindex Personal is $288. Family plans for four or five people run $129 to $329 a year. Executive plans start around $900 a year, and quoted executive security programs reach $3,000 or more per person.
Those are the prices on each provider's own pricing page in September 2026, billed yearly. Monthly billing costs roughly double. The cheapest plan is rarely the best buy, though, because the price mostly tracks three things: how many US people-search sites are covered, whether the service rechecks and refiles when your listing comes back, and whether you get any proof that a listing was actually removed. Below is every major service side by side, then what drives the differences and which plan fits which buyer.

How much does a data removal service cost?
For one person on a yearly plan, expect to pay $95 to $175 for a mainstream service. Budget services go as low as $20 to $40 a year with thinner coverage or less support, and premium tiers with custom removals cost $180 to $250. This table lists the yearly price for one person, the monthly rate where one exists, and the household plan.

Prices come from each provider's pricing page and change often, especially first-year discounts. Aura and Cloaked bundle removal with identity theft insurance, a VPN or a password manager, so part of what you pay buys tools that have nothing to do with people-search sites. For the full breakdown of any single service, see our pages on what DeleteMe costs per plan, Incogni pricing, Aura's price with and without the bundle and Privacy Bee's three tiers.
How much do removal services cost per month?
Most removal services cost $8 to $15 a month when you pay for a year up front, and $13 to $30 a month on month-to-month billing. Incogni is $7.99 a month on its yearly plan and $15.98 on monthly billing. DeleteMe and EasyOptOuts do not sell monthly plans at all. Deindex Personal is $49 a month, or $24 a month on the yearly plan.
A monthly plan makes sense in one situation: you need a listing gone now, for example after a move or a harassment incident, and you want to see results before you commit to a year. Otherwise the yearly price is almost always half the cost, and removal is ongoing work anyway, because people-search sites relist you when they buy fresh data.
Why do data removal services charge a subscription instead of a one-time fee?
Because the listings come back. People-search sites rebuild profiles from public records, marketing lists and other brokers every few weeks, so a one-time removal usually holds for a month or two. A subscription pays for the rescans that catch each relisting and the new request that takes it down again. Any service offering a single payment for permanent removal is promising something no provider controls.
What makes one data removal service cost more than another?
Four things explain most of the price gap between a $39 plan and a $249 plan.
Coverage of the sites that matter. A big number on the homepage is not the same as coverage of the US people-search sites that show your address on Google. Spokeo, Whitepages, TruePeopleSearch, FastPeopleSearch, BeenVerified and Radaris do most of the damage. Before paying, run the provider's scan and check that the sites listing you appear in its results.
Rescan frequency and refiling. Cheap plans often scan every three or four months. Relisting within weeks is common, so a slow rescan leaves your address visible for most of the year. Mid-priced plans rescan monthly, and premium plans weekly or continuously.
Custom removals. Premium tiers such as Incogni Unlimited, Optery Ultimate and Privacy Bee Pro let you submit sites outside the standard list, like a news aggregator or an obscure directory. That is usually where the price jumps.
Proof. Most services report a status per site. Very few show you a dated screenshot of the listing before and after, or the law each request was filed under. If you ever need to show a court, an employer or a security team that your address was taken down, that paper trail is what you are paying for. Deindex attaches both to every removal.
Data removal service cost for a family
A family plan for four or five people costs $129 to $384 a year, which works out to $26 to $82 per person. The cheapest per head is CrabClear at €129 for five, then Incogni Family at $191.88 for five. DeleteMe covers four people for $329, Aura Family covers five adults for $384 with insurance included, and Deindex Family covers five for $588.
Families usually buy because one person's listing exposes everyone: people-search sites print relatives' names and addresses on each profile, so removing one parent while the others stay listed leaves the house findable. Cover every adult in the household on the same plan. Our comparison of DeleteMe, Optery, Cloaked and Incogni family plans goes through what each one counts as a family member.
Data removal service cost for executives and businesses
For executives, board members and public-facing staff, removal is usually bought as a program rather than a consumer plan. ReputationDefender's ExecutivePrivacy tiers are quoted after a consultation, with reported contracts from about $1,000 to $25,000 a year. BlackCloak, which adds device and home network security, is reported at $3,000 per person a year and about $35,000 for an average company contract. Hush Professional is $6,000 a year for one person, and 360 Privacy sells its Delete, Monitor and Defend packages only after a demo. Ironwall by Incogni is quote only too, though one public county contract shows about $400 per protected person a year. Police officers can buy their own coverage for less: law enforcement programs start at $50 a year, as our law enforcement privacy protection cost comparison shows.
Plans with published prices cost far less. Deindex Executive covers up to five people for $888 a year with weekly rescans, custom removal requests and a quarterly PDF report for the security team, and Deindex Business is $1,788 a year ($298 a month) for up to ten employees. If your company already tracks regulatory obligations in compliance management software, the quarterly report gives you a dated record to attach to that control. For the full picture of what executive programs include, see BlackCloak pricing and competitors.
Are data removal services worth the cost?
Yes, if your name search shows your home address, phone number or relatives, and you would rather not spend hours each quarter refiling the same opt-outs. A yearly plan costs less than one evening of billable time for most professionals, and the service catches relistings you would not notice until someone used them.
It is not worth it if a scan shows you on two or three sites and you are comfortable filing those opt-outs yourself, or if you are buying an all-in-one bundle only for the removal feature. In that second case you are paying for insurance and a VPN you did not need. Check what the scan finds first, then decide which tier covers those sites.
Costs to check before you pay
- Renewal price. Aura, McAfee Personal Data Cleanup and Norton advertise first-year prices that can renew higher. CrabClear marks its prices as launch prices. Ask what year two costs.
- Currency. A plan billed in euros can trigger a foreign transaction fee on a US card.
- Refund terms. Incogni and Optery offer 30 days, EasyOptOuts 150 days, Aura 60 days on annual plans. DeleteMe refunds in full only before your first privacy report.
- Who counts as family. Some plans cover only adults at one address, others any five people.
Which data removal service should you pay for?
If you want the lowest price and can live with slower rescans, Optery Core at $39 or EasyOptOuts at $19.99 is enough. If you want a mainstream service with a long US track record, Incogni at $95.88 or DeleteMe at $129 is the usual pick. If a stranger, an ex or a harasser can find your address and you need proof of every removal, Deindex Personal at $288 a year or Family at $588 is built for that.
