Refund Policy

Removal work begins as soon as a plan is paid, so a Deindex payment is final. This page lists the three situations in which we send money back and explains how cancelling works.

In force from October 14, 2026

Why every payment is final

A Deindex plan is a monthly or yearly subscription. From the day it is paid we file erasure and opt-out requests with data brokers and people-search sites on your behalf and keep checking them for relisting, within the limits listed on the pricing page. Those requests cannot be called back once they are sent, and the fee covers the service being available for the whole period rather than a count of removals. That is why the full period is yours, and paid for, from its first day.

The free exposure scan shows you, before you pay, exactly which sites publish your data, so you know what the paid plan will work on.

When you subscribe you ask us to start straight away, and you accept that any statutory withdrawal or cooling-off right that would otherwise apply comes to an end once we have begun performing the service at your request.

The three exceptions

We return a charge only in one of these cases, only when our records confirm it, and only up to that charge.

  • Charged twice. A fault in our billing took two payments for the same period.
  • A charge you never made, and it can be proven. Your card was used without your consent, you report it within 14 days, and the account and transaction records support you. The evidence settles it, not the claim by itself, and we may ask you to confirm you reported the misuse to your card issuer.
  • Deindex stopped working entirely. A fault we confirmed made the service completely unusable for a continuous period, you told us at the time, and we could not resolve it. Delays caused by brokers, slower processing and problems on your own device or network are not included.

An approved refund is our entire liability for that charge, never exceeds what you paid for the affected period, and goes only to the card that was charged. Approving one refund creates no right to a second.

What does not qualify

  • Changing your mind, or deciding you no longer need removals.
  • Not logging in or not reviewing your dashboard during a paid period.
  • How a broker, people-search site or search engine responds: a listing that takes weeks to go, a site that ignores the law, a record that reappears, or a result that is outside what can lawfully be removed. We file every request we can; we cannot promise what a third party does with it.
  • Public and court records, news articles and other content we explain we will not remove.
  • A renewal, including one that was collected after earlier failed attempts.
  • Forgetting to cancel before the renewal date, or cancelling the day after it.
  • Choosing the wrong plan, billing period or number of family members.
  • The unused part of a period after you cancel. There is no pro-rating.
  • Someone else using your account with your login.

Cancelling and renewals

Your plan renews automatically until you cancel it from the billing portal in your account, which needs no email or call. Cancelling stops all later renewals at once, and Deindex keeps working for you until the end of the period already paid. Cancelling is not a refund request.

A new period begins on the renewal date shown in your account, and its payment is due that day. If your bank declines the card, the payment operator retries the same invoice over the following days; these are not new charges. Cancelling while that invoice is open switches off future periods but does not cancel the one already running, and that renewal is not refunded. Cancel before the renewal date if you do not want the next period.

How to request a refund

Email [email protected] from the address on your account within 14 days of the charge, with its date and amount and the exception you are relying on. Requests made later or through any other channel are not considered. We review them in the order received, without a promised response time, and we do not reopen a declined one.

Disputing the charge with your bank before writing to us breaches our Terms of Service and results in the account being closed permanently.

Records we rely on

Opening an account means accepting the Terms of Service, which include this policy, and the Privacy Policy. Checkout states the plan, price, billing period and automatic renewal before payment, and the confirmation email and your account show them again.

We keep, for every subscription, the purchase time, the plan and price shown, your acceptance of the terms, the emails we sent, and an activity log of the account: sign-ins, scans, authorisations you gave and removal requests filed, with the technical details recorded for each. The payment operator separately records each charge, including the country that issued the card, where the payment came from and the outcome of bank authentication such as 3D Secure. Unauthorised-charge claims are checked against these records, and they are what we send to the card issuer if a chargeback is opened.

Plans bought before this policy

A subscription purchased before October 14, 2026 keeps the refund terms that were published on the day it was bought.
