How the service works

How does Aura data removal work?

After you sign up, Aura scans people-finder and data broker sites for your details and sends removal requests to more than 425 of them. Aura says processing can take up to 30 days depending on the broker. It then rescans daily and resubmits requests to any site that lists you again, and the dashboard shows each site moving from in progress to removed.

Aura also works on Google search results and flags old online accounts tied to your email. For brokers it cannot automate, it asks you to take a step yourself. What it cannot do is delete court filings, voter rolls or property records at the government source, which is true of every removal service, Deindex included.

Should you buy Aura or Incogni?

Buy Incogni if data removal is the only thing you want: it is about $48 a year cheaper for one person, and the Family plan is half of what Aura Family costs. Buy Aura if you want credit monitoring from all three bureaus, antivirus, a VPN and identity theft insurance anyway, because then removal is effectively included and the daily rescan is faster than most standalone services.

Neither attaches a legal basis or a dated screenshot to each removal. That matters when the listing is a safety problem, for example a stalker or an angry former client finding your home address, and you need to show a lawyer or employer exactly what came down and when.

DeleteMe is the pure removal service: $129 a year for one person, with yearly billing only and no monthly plan. Aura costs $15 more a year for one adult and adds the identity theft suite plus a daily relisting check. For two people DeleteMe charges $229, while Aura Couple is $264 a year.

If your employer or a security team needs a record of what was removed, neither product gives you a per-listing screenshot. Deindex does, and it rescans weekly on the Executive plan for people whose address exposure is an active risk.

Is Aura data removal worth it?

Aura data removal is worth it for a household that wants identity theft protection and broker removal from one vendor.
