Aura Family Plan, Aura Family Plan Cost, Review and the Removal-Only Alternative

The Aura family plan costs $384 a year, or $50 a month on monthly billing, and covers five adults plus unlimited kids. If what worries you is your household address on people-search sites, run the scan for one family member first and see how many sites list you.

No account needed. Adding a city and state is what lets us tell your record apart from everyone who shares your name.

The short answer

The Aura family plan costs $32 a month billed yearly ($384 a year) or $50 a month billed monthly, and covers five adults, unlimited kids and unlimited devices with $5 million in identity theft insurance. That is $76.80 per adult per year. It is worth it if your family will use credit monitoring, parental controls and insurance; for data broker removal alone, Incogni Family ($191.88 for 5) costs less, and Deindex Family ($588 for 5) adds dated proof for each removal.

What Aura Family Plan actually is

Pricing

Family (5 adults, unlimited kids, unlimited devices, $5M identity theft insurance) $32/mo billed yearly, which is $384 a year, or $50 month to month. Couple $22/mo yearly or $29 monthly; Individual $12 or $15; Kids $10 or $13. 14-day free trial and a 60-day money-back guarantee on annual plans bought from Aura. Verified on aura.com in September 2026.

Where Aura Family Plan is strong

A lot in one bill: credit monitoring and alerts, identity theft insurance, antivirus and a VPN on unlimited devices, parental controls for the kids, and data broker removal that Aura says reaches 425+ sites with daily rechecks. Five adults plus any number of children is the widest household cover in the category.

Where it falls short

The family plan is a bundle, so a household that only wants listings removed still pays for credit monitoring, antivirus and insurance. Month-to-month billing costs $600 a year against $384 yearly, and removals are reported as a status per site, without a dated screenshot or the legal basis of each request.

Aura plan by plan

How much does the Aura family plan cost?

Aura sells four plans, and the Family plan is the top one. Billed yearly it is $32 a month, so the card is charged $384 upfront. Billed monthly it is $50 a month, which adds up to $600 over a year. The yearly plan saves $216, which is why nearly every Aura review quotes the $32 figure.

Split across five adults, the yearly Family plan is $76.80 per adult per year. Two adults on the Couple plan pay $264 a year ($132 each), so the Family plan only beats Couple once three or more adults join. Kids ride along at no extra charge, and a Kids plan on its own is $10 a month yearly for parents who want only the parental controls.

What the money buys

What does the Aura family plan include?

The Family plan stacks three products. First, identity protection for the adults: credit and identity monitoring, fraud alerts, and identity theft insurance, listed at $5 million for the plan. Second, device security: antivirus, a VPN and a password manager on unlimited devices. Third, child safety: parental controls, screen time limits, content filters and alerts for the kids on the plan.

Data broker removal is one feature inside that bundle. Aura says it sends opt-out requests to 425+ data broker, people-search and marketing sites, rechecks them daily and refiles when a listing comes back. You cannot buy that removal on its own at Aura, so the family plan price is the price of removal for a household.

Every family plan, side by side

Aura family plan vs other family data removal plans

If the reason you are shopping is that a search for your name shows your home address, the family plans below are the real comparison. They are removal services first. Aura is the only one where you also pay for credit monitoring, antivirus and parental controls, which is why it sits at the top of the price range.

Head count matters as much as price. Aura, Incogni and Deindex cover five people. DeleteMe, Cloaked and PrivacyHawk stop at four, so a fifth adult in the house needs a separate plan, and people-search sites connect relatives by shared address.

Our review

Is the Aura family plan worth it?

For a family with young kids and several adults who want credit monitoring, yes. Buying parental controls, a VPN, antivirus and credit alerts separately for five adults would cost more than $384 a year, and Aura puts them in one app with one bill. The 14-day trial and 60-day refund on the annual plan make it low risk to test.

It is poor value when data removal is the actual goal. You pay for five adults of credit monitoring and insurance to get opt-outs you could buy for half the price. And if a relative is being harassed, stalked or doxxed, a status line saying a site was processed is not much to hand to a lawyer or the police. You want the listing, the date it came down and the request that removed it.

Removal without the bundle

Aura family plan alternative for data broker removal

Deindex Family covers five people for $588 a year or $99 a month. Each person gets their own profile and monitor, the removal requests go out under the law that applies (a CCPA or state privacy delete request, GDPR Article 17, or the broker's published opt-out route), and every removal is saved with a dated before-and-after screenshot. We rescan monthly and refile when a site relists someone.

Many families keep what they already use for credit (a free credit bureau freeze costs nothing and blocks new accounts) and buy removal separately. Start with the scan at the top of this page for one adult. It shows how many sites publish that person and which ones, so you can see whether a full identity bundle or a removal plan fits your household.

Why people switch

Why people move from Aura Family Plan to Deindex

  • Your household mainly wants names and the home address off people-search sites, not another credit monitoring app.

  • You need a dated before-and-after screenshot and the legal basis for each removal, for a lawyer, HR or the police.

  • You want dated proof and a legal basis for every removal in the household, not a bundle you use part of.

If you are still shortlisting, our ranked breakdown of the best data removal service puts Aura Family Plan next to every other option on price and legal basis. Want to try the free route first? The data broker opt out list covers what Aura Family Plan and Deindex both file on your behalf, and the wider guide to removing your information from the internet explains what no provider can take down.

Our differentiator

We sell proof and legal standing, not a count.

Every provider in this category, Aura Family Plan included, will tell you how many opt-out requests it sent. Deindex tells you which legal mechanism each request was filed under, GDPR Article 17, CCPA §1798.105, the broker's own opt-out policy, or Google's personal-information removal tool, and attaches a dated before-and-after screenshot to every resolution. That is what you hand a security team or a lawyer, a number on a dashboard is not evidence.

We also tell you what we cannot remove. Court records, news articles, and anything outside legal removal scope stay published, and we say so upfront rather than take your money for a promise we cannot keep. Currently 50+ data brokers and people-search sites are in the catalog.

Aura Family Plan alternative FAQ

Before you switch

The Aura family plan is $32 a month when billed yearly, charged as $384 upfront, or $50 a month on monthly billing. Over a year the monthly option costs $600, so the annual plan saves $216. Aura offers a 14-day free trial, and annual plans bought from Aura carry a 60-day money-back guarantee.

The Aura family plan covers five adults and an unlimited number of kids, on unlimited devices. Adults get identity and credit monitoring, insurance and data broker removal; kids get parental controls and online safety features. If you have only two adults, the Couple plan at $22 a month billed yearly costs less.

Yes. Aura lists data broker removal among the Family plan features and says it sends opt-outs to 425+ data broker and people-search sites, rechecking daily. The removal is not sold separately, so you pay the full Family plan price for it. Removal-only family plans from Incogni and Deindex cost $191.88 and $588 a year for five people.

It is worth it for households that will use credit monitoring, identity theft insurance and parental controls together, because buying those separately for five adults costs more. It is not worth it if you mainly want your family's names and address off people-search sites. A removal-only family plan does that for $100 to $190 less a year.

Aura gives a 60-day money-back guarantee on annual plans bought directly from Aura or through its customer support, so you can cancel within 60 days of the first purchase for a full refund. Monthly plans can be cancelled to stop the next charge. Plans bought through a third party such as Amazon follow that seller's terms.

For removal, yes. Deindex Family is $588 a year for five people, $117.60 each, against $384 for the Aura family plan. Aura includes credit monitoring, insurance, antivirus and parental controls that Deindex does not, so compare on what your household will actually use. Incogni Family is cheaper than both at $191.88 for five, without proof per removal.
